PSWD CONSULTANTS

Working with the staff and the Leadership Resources Council will be teams of people who will work as consultants with congregations and clusters in specific areas of need. The teams are as follows:

• Religious Education: RE Covenants, mission/vision work, and youth advisor trainings.
• Conflict Management: Local consulting on congregational covenants of right relations and conflict management committees as well as congregational assessments or interventions when needed.
• Transition: With District staff, plan and lead start up workshops for ministers and DREs, exit and transition interviews, and other transition work.
• Worship: Contemporary worship, use of video in worship and music resources and planning
• Finance: Canvass trainings and consultations on financial management, fund-raising, investment practices, endowments, and planned giving.
• Congregational Leadership: Board and committee retreats, membership integration, young adult/campus ministries, and growth strategies.
• Social Justice: Consultations on anti-racism/anti-oppression; Welcoming Congregation, and other social justice related concerns.

Our staff, Ken Brown and Tera Little, work closely with all of our consultants, including planning regular refresher training events. Use of the consultants does require a modest honorarium of $100 to 150 per half-day unit. In order to help each congregation work with the best available consultant for their needs, the District covers the transportation cost of the consultants for congregations that have been Fair Share to the PSWD and UUA for at least two years. ANNUAL PROGRAM FUND
Encourages member societies of the PSWD to meet their suggested share of the financial obligation to the UUA Annual Program Fund, and offers services to local congregations in the area of developing sound fundraising techniques to improve their financial health and thus enhance their capacity to support the UUA.

COMPENSATION
Assist congregations in establishing multi-year plans to bring compensation for ministers and professional staff into compliance with UUA guidelines.

MINISTERIAL SETTLEMENT REPRESENTATIVE

Supports congregations in search of a settled minister. The church board should contact Rev. Bets Wienecke, the MSR, as soon as the decision is made to enter the search process, before a search committee is nominated.
